One to one interaction with your kids can be phenomenal at times. Luke and I were engaged in a conversation on the way to Columbia SC. He decided to just come hang with me for a couple of nights while I am out of town on business. We were discussing the uncertainties in the lives of so many people we know... the kinds of things that lead to people choosing to end life, choosing to leave their marriage, choosing to not pursue their dreams, choosing to not follow Christ, and so on...
We talked about what is means to follow Jesus and lean on His unchangingness (don't really know if that's a word... but we both understood each other)...
then there was a short pause and then Luke says... "Dad, Thank you... (pause again)... for living that way!" Can't tell you what it meant to me to hear him say that to me! There's no one else I rather demonstrate that lifestyle to than my kids! Sometimes I forget they are watching me.
This made me think of when Peter (with John) said to the lame beggar in Acts 3... "look at us..."
Are we living lives that we want others to look at...?
